WHAT IS HT STRENGTH & FITNESS? - HT Strength & Fitness is a community and whānau based gym that specialises in making people stronger, healthier and skuxxer (become the strongest version of themselves) through Powerlifting, MMA, BJJ and Cross Training. This is delivered through a wide range of classes catering to all ages and levels of fitness.
We aim to support our community to live a healthy and active lifestyle by providing an affordable and accessible gym for all.
WHO TRAINS AT HT STRENGTH & FITNESS? - Everyone trains at HT, we have members from 2 years of age to people as young as 70.
WHERE IS HT STRENGTH & FITNESS? - We are based in the heart of Rotorua central: 1186 Arawa Street. Across the road from the Rotorua Citizens Club, on the second floor above Speedy signs.
Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three lifts; Squat, Bench Press and Deadlift. It allows you to build muscle and burn fat. Powerlifting strengthens the muscles of your legs, back and upper body. Nearly every skeletal muscle is strengthened with a powerlifting routine.
Powerlifting is a very intense form of exercise and burns a great amount of calories. Not only does it burn many calories, but it also has positive long-term benefits for your metabolism.
Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed Martial Arts is a sport in which contestants are permitted to use the fighting techniques of Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Brazillian Ju Jitsu and all other martial arts combined.
At HT Strength & Fitness you will be taught a range of skills in a safe and controlled environment by a qualified range of instructors. Our instructors are past and current national champions and have competed at an international level.
Who can learn MMA? People of all ages and fitness levels are able to train and learn MMA.
At HT Strength & Fitness you will be taught the fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and welcoming environment where progress is a certainty and the love of BJJ is inevitable.
You will be taught by and trained alongside current national champions and international competitors.
You will also learn and be exposed to other grappling arts like "Catch as you can wrestling", freestyle wrestling, Judo and Sambo that help make HT a unique and optimal Grappling style.
We have kids classes 4 years old to 12 years old, and adults classes 13 years old and above.
Cross Training is a cardio based workout. It involves a combination of exercises to work various parts of the body, using both your own body weight as well as weights.
Booty and Core
Booty and Core classes target and work specifically on your booty and core muscles. Although this is the focus it also works your entire body.
It is a 30 minute workout that tones and strengthens your booty and core, builds functional strength and greater movement for the entire body
High Intensity Interval Trainings
HIITS = High Intensity Interval Training Systems which translates to a hard as workout lol.
HIITS is the perfect training system for burning fat and toning muscle.
The sessions are intense but short in which each individual works at their own rate of maximum intensity and pace.
Each session is different and never gets boring.
